Planning a party should be exciting, not stressful. At WayDIY, we’ve created this simple guide to help you choose the right tableware, decorations, and accessories for your event.

1. How Much Tableware Do You Need?

The amount depends on your guest list, type of food, and whether you’re serving snacks, a full meal, or multiple courses.

General Rule of Thumb:

  • Plates – 2 per guest (1 for food, 1 as backup/dessert).

  • Cups – 2–3 per guest (allowing for refills or dropped cups).

  • Napkins – 3–4 per guest (always useful for spills and snacks).

  • Cutlery (if included) – 1 full set per guest, with a few extras.

📌 Example: For a party of 20 people, we recommend:

  • 40 plates

  • 40–50 cups

  • 80 napkins

  • 25 sets of cutlery

2. Choosing the Right Theme

💡 Tip: Pick a main color or pattern and build around it with matching cups, plates, and décor.

3. Decoration Planning

  • Banners & Garlands – 1 per wall or large space.

  • Centerpieces – 1 for each table (or every 6–8 guests).

  • Balloons – 3–5 clusters per party area, or a full balloon arch for extra impact.

  • Table Covers – 1 per table (plus an extra as backup).

4. Safety & Convenience

  • Keep decorations away from open flames and heat sources.

  • Use balloon pumps, not your mouth, to inflate balloons.

  • Always keep sharp décor tools and small items away from children.

  • Have a waste bin nearby for quick cleanup — it makes post-party tidy-up easier.
